Spicoli

What moved to CA as Primitive Son, became Spicoli with the departure of Joel 'Dez' Crandall on bass and the arrival of Bill, then Sam, then Neil Guiterrez before becoming a solid band.

The band's love for the movie, "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" along with the realization that the book the movie was based on, had direct connections to a high-school in San Diego made the group choose the not-as-well-known-as-they-thought name. However, a couple of bands have come out since with that name, but to the best of knowledge, this Spicoli was the first.

After a complete set of drums was stolen, the band found itself without a solid persussion section. High-school friend of bassplayer Guiterrez and southern California local Aaron Gotchmanski was a drummer without a band, and graciously 'loaned' Spicoli his kit. After a few shows and some impromptu jam sessions with the band (since his kit was set up anyway) found a good chemistry and the band moved forward with Gotchmanski as the new drummer.

A quality six-song demo was recorded with Gar Woods (Tanner). This demo saw a pretty limited release, so if you got one, you are special. But the tunes live on below...

Also,a few pictures. This was just before the advent of digital cameras being a common thing and cell phones were still pretty much only for rich people in a car. So there aren't a lot of pictures... but there is some video.
